Richard Evans

Richard is a set and costume designer working throughout the UK and internationally designing drama, musical theatre and opera. His work includes the West End Premieres and subsequent International Tours of Seussical and Guess How Much I love You and the UK Tour of hit musical Avenue Q. In 2018 he was shortlisted for the Scottish Culture Design Award and his work has been nominated for the Broadway World Awards (Addams Family, 2014), the Off West End Awards (Merchant of Venice, 2013). Richard also works extensively in the Film and TV industry as a Designer, Set Decorator and Production Buyer.

His UK and International Tour credits include: Avenue Q (2014-2019 No.1 Tour), Elmer (UK, China, International Tour), Guess How Much I Love You (West End, UK, China and Worldwide Tour), Look Up (2018), Bring on the Bollywood (2017), A Streetcar Named Desire (2017), Democracy (2016), Spectretown (2015), Jekyll and Hyde (2015), Kidnapped (2014), A Midsummer Night’s Dream (2013), The Man Who Had All the Luck (2012) and Lord of the Flies (2012).

Richard’s Theatre credits include: Peter Pan, Snow White, Aladdin, Wizard of Oz (Prime Pantomimes/ Selladoor – UK wide), Stardust (Phizzical/Belgrade Theatre, Coventry), A Night to Remember, Come Hell or High Water, The Rifles, One More Sleep ‘Til Christmas (Citizens Theatre, Glasgow), The Snow Queen, A Christmas Carol, Love Song, Little Red and The Wolf (Dundee Rep), Aladdin (Broadway Theatre), Seussical (West End, International Tour), Is That You Santa?, All I Want For Christmas, Sleepin’ Cutie (Macrobert Arts Centre), Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, Into the Woods, 9to5, Addams Family, Spring Awakening, Company (Royal Conservatoire of Scotland), 12 Days of Christmas, Changing Stages, 12:1 (Chickenshed), The Girl Who (Noisemaker) and The Seagull (York Theatre Royal).

His designs for Opera and Dance include: Shaw Goes Wilde (Royal Academy of Music /Pegasus Opera), Cinderella and Hansel and Gretel (High Time Opera / Coventry Belgrade), Sharing Stages (Chickenshed), 125 (Groundswell) and VITA (InBetween).

Film and TV credits include: Princess Switch 3 (Netflix), The Control Room (BBC), The Lost King (Pathé), Borderland (Sky Movies), A Castle For Christmas (Netflix), Bill (BBC Films / Horrible Histories), Moving On (BBC One), Justice (BBC One), AMINA (African Film Tour) and More Than Words (BBC One).
