Michael began his career at the Open Air Theatre, Regent’s Park in 1967 and has since acted in theatres throughout Britain. Theatre roles include: Polonius/Grave Digger in Hamlet at The Gateway Theatre, The External at Theatre Royal Bath and No.1 Tour, Ridcully/Jason Ogg in Lords & Ladies at The Rollright Stones, Sergeant Brian in Naked Justice on a No.1 Tour, the English Premiere of Top Dogs, playing a character called Mr Hucks, Gilbert Wedgecroft in Waste at Greenwich Playhouse, Thomas Beckett in Murder in the Cathedral, Leonato in Much Ado About Nothing and Friar Laurence in Romeo and Juliet at The Cambridge Shakespeare Festival, The Philanthropist at The Wyndhams Theatre and No.1 Tour, Breaking the Code at The Latchmere Theatre, Richard III at Theatre Royal York..

His numerous TV appearances include Eastenders, BBC; Allo Allo, BBC; London’s Burning, LWT; Drop the Dead Donkey Hat Trick for Channel 4 and Grange Hill BBC. Films include She’s Been Away, Film on 4 and the voice of over 60 cartoon characters.
