TRIBUTE TO A BLUE LADY

Cathy Meils graduated with honors from the University of Wisconsin and holds a Master’s degree from Northwestern University and a Master of Fine Arts in directing from Florida State University. She is the co-founder of the Prague Ensemble Theatre, for which she directed Hunting Cockroaches, La Ronde andWenceslas Square.
Other directing credits include the premiere of Homeless Art at the Residenz Theater in Vienna, Czech productions of video games, and most recently the premiere of Noel & Alfred & Lynn by Barry Day. In New York, she was a casting director for the American television show Another World. As a journalist, she has been the Vienna and Prague correspondent for “Variety”, “Business Central Europe”, “TV East Europe”, and “Plays International”. She has contributed to numerous international publications, including “American Theatre Magazine”, “The Independent Film and Video”, “The Independent” (London), “The Wall Street Journal”, “The Scotsman”, “The Asahi Shimbun”, and “The Prague Post”.
She occasionally acts in film and voice-overs, and was the narrator at the Märchenbühne, der Apfelbaum in Vienna. She now divides her time between the U.S. and the Czech Republic.
