Jacqueline Gunn


After graduating from Wimbledon School of Art, Jacqueline was awarded an Arts Council bursary and consequently became Assistant Designer at The Royal Opera House and with The Royal Shakespeare Company. Following this, she became Associate Designer at The Coliseum, Oldham and Resident Designer at Contact Theatre. As a freelance designer she worked with Lloyd Newson, Extemporary Dance, Westbrook Theatre, Adzido and the Rambert Academy, East London Dance.

Theatre work includes: The Dillen (co-design, RSC ), The Tempest (Kick Theatre), Krapp’s Last Tape (Bloomsbury Festival), Twelfth Night (Birmingham Rep.), The Pocket Dream (Nottingham Playhouse/Albery, London West End ), Blooding the Ocean (Traverse), and most recently Sea Urchins (Tron), Kissing Angels (National Youth Theatre, Edinburgh Festival and Battersea Arts Centre), The Pool of Bethesda, Saved and The Crucible for The Central School of Speech and Drama, Jack and The Beanstalk, Artshape (Gloucester), Paperchase (Unicorn Theatre), Burning Bright, Shining Souls for VAMP Productions (Tramway ) and Brave at The Old Fruitmarket, Glasgow.

Opera work includes: The Rake’s Progress, La Voix Humaine (Bloomsbury Festival), several productions for “Rossini in Wildbad Festival” (Germany), Labarinto ( Munich Biennale), L’Elisir d’Amore, Il Trovatore, Otello ( Stadttheater Luzern ), Vaudeville (Warsaw Music Festival ) and Cosi fan Tutte ( English National Opera), Shockheaded Peter (VAT Theatre, Estonia). In 2006 she founded a production company, ‘oddatsea’.

Site Specific Sculpture and Gallery work includes: “Buttons” (Aberdeen Studios), “Routes 32” (Royal Holloway University), “Ebb and Flow” (sculpture on and by The River Wandle), “Green Time Walk” (Akademi for Figurteater, Norway), Artist in Residence at Cricket Green School, Mitcham, London, Elthome Park School, Hanwell, London, Millbank Primary School, London and Honeywell Primary School.

Jacqueline is a co-founder member of 5 sited +, ‘5 sited +’ at b contemporary, London, ‘5 sited +’,contra-flow’ at The Pentagon Centre, Glasgow. ‘Bag’, ‘Body’, group shows at The Art House, Westboume, UK.
