Jack Tripp


Jack Tripp has worked in the theatre for over thirty-eight years since training in his native city of Bristol at the Old Vic School in 1964.

His jobs have included: Master carpenter at the Duke of York’s, Phoenix and Aldwych Theatres in London; Resident Stage Manager at the Richmond Theatre Surrey; Senior Stage Manager of Sun City, South Africa; Carpenter and Scene Painter for Oxford Playhouse and Production Manager for Watford Palace, Colchester Mercury, Salisbury Playhouse, Buxton Opera Festival, Theatre Clwyd and English National Opera at the London Coliseum.

Jack has designed Cider with Rosie, Turn of the Screw, Dangerous Corner and The Live Bed Show for the Royal Theatre Northampton where he was resident Production Manager. He has also designed five TIE/Community tours for The Royal in Northampton. He is at present Production Manager for the acclaimed Royal Exchange Theatre in Manchester.

Recently Jack has designed five lavish revues for The Casino Sol Verde in Portugal and Say Who You Are, last year at Vienna’s English Theatre. Jack has also worked in dose collaboration with many famous designers including Maria Bjornson, Stefan Lazaridis, Ralph Koltai and Pamela Howard as well as realizing stage designs for Gerald Scarfe and Ralph Steadman.
