SYNOPSIS
Vienna’s English Theatre proudly presents the European Premiere of the 2002 Broadway Hit “The Goat, or Who Is Sylvia?”
The play begins as a domestic comedy which turns into dark farce via a midlife crisis with a twist. A fifty year old, wildly successful architect, with a lovely wife, a happy marriage and a pleasant, gay teenage son, falls in love – with a goat!
Albee not only touches on the themes of adultery and midlife crisis in this provocative and troubling play but also on the myth of the American Dream and the hypocrisy of the striving American establishment.
The Goat is unquestionably one of the wittiest and funniest plays Albee has ever written. Clive Barnes. New York Post
