Tribute to a Blue Lady is inspired by and dedicated to the controversial life and the memory of Billie Holiday, the most renowned Blues and Jazz singer of our time. Carole Alston, known to Viennese audiences from the musicals Ain’t Misbehavin’ and Avenue X, embodies Holiday ’s legend throughout the jazz-eras of the 1930’s and 40’s, highlighting key moments of the singer’s life. The show features Billie’s most unforgettable songs, including “God Bless the Child”, “Lover Man, Oh Where Can You Be?” and “Please Don’t Talk About Me When I’m Gone”. Carole Alston’s charismatic performance brings ‘Lady Day’, who sang and lived the Blues, back to life.
