Andrew Hilton

The Musical Director / Keyboards

Andrew studied conducting and musical direction at the University of East Anglia, Norwich. His recent credits include conducting Monty Python’s Spamalot (Palace Theatre, West End)† and the London premiere of Disney’s High School Musical (Hammersmith Apollo). He has just returned from conducting the British Amateur Premiere of Les Misťrables at the Gaiety Theatre, Douglas and the UK tour of Disney’s High School Musical. Other credits include the UK tour of The Producers with Peter Kay and Joe Pasquale and Hello Dolly (Lincoln Theatre Royal) with Anita Dobson. He was alternate Musical Director of Dancing in the Streets in the West End (Cambridge, Aldwych and Playhouse) and Musical Supervisor for Closer Than Ever (Erin Arts Centre).

He was also Musical Director on a 350-date European tour of The Rocky Horror Show and the new Palladium orchestration of Oliver at Aberystwyth Arts Centre. Other credits include Into the Woods and Big Top (Bridewell) Annie (Lincoln Theatre Royal), Personals (Jermyn St), Elvis – The Musical (CMC), The Witches of Eastwick (Gaiety, Isle of Man), Sweet Charity (Stratford Circus) and Newley (Tristan Bates).

He is Musical Supervisor of the English Theatre Frankfurt where his shows include new arrangements and productions of Hair, Rent and Cabaret. Other MD credits include Spend, Spend, Spend and They’re Playing Our Song (both English Theatre Frankfurt), Peter Pan, Cinderella, Dick Whittington (all Theatre Royal Norwich), The Boyfriend, Hot Mikado and Nunsense II (Plowright Theatre) and SS Emerald/MV Bilbao (cruiseships). As assistant musical director, shows include Aladdin, Cinderella, Dick Whittington, Jack and the Beanstalk, Oh! What a Lovely War! and Treasure Island (all at Theatre Royal Norwich). He is regular MD and Vocal Coach at LSMT and Mountview Academy . Andrew has also produced a number of shows both here and in Germany including Nothing to Do With Love, Cum Grano Salis and The Joy of Sechs.

He is delighted to return to Vienna after previously conducting two productions of The Rocky Horror Show at the Ronacher Theatre. After this he travels to Berlin for the German Premiere of The Producers at the Admiralspalast.

Magnus Gilljam

The Assistant Musical Director/Keyboards

Magnus Gilljam was born in Sweden and raised on a diet of IKEA furniture and ABBA songs. He came to the UK in 1999 for post-graduate studies in accompaniment at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama and is now based in London working as a freelance pianist and musical director.

Recent credits include: Musical direction for the critically acclaimed productions of HMS Pinafore and The Pajama Game at the Union Theatre, Dick Whittington at Watford Palace; keyboards in Aspects of Love (UK tour), Sweeney Todd, and an appearance on BBC Wales in concert with Katherine Jenkins.

In June Magnus can be seen as musical director for a pocket production of Rossini’s La Cenerentola at the Cochrane and Unicorn Theatres in London.
